Me & My Girls!

Before Ireland's bath tonight Ben took some "bare baby" pics of Ireland with her Mommy! She is 5 1/2 months old this week and growing and changing so much! She's really started to "talk" more and make a lot more fun little noises lately. She smiles a lot and is a happy baby! Ireland was at the dr. yesterday for what I thought may have been an ear infection but thankfully she came out without any and was healthy (guess she was just fussy for a few days just because she wanted to be???) and her weight was 14lbs. Enjoy the bare baby pics!

Isabelle has learned a couple Bible verses in the past couple weeks. So a few mornings ago I was thinking I'd get her to say them on video. Well...maybe we need to work on the appying part of the second verse a little more??!??!??! haha!

Fun in GA

The girls and I took a little trip to GA this past weekend. My good friend Lauren (we grew up together) lives in Greenville and her parents now live in GA. Lauren was going to spend the weekend with her mom and sister while her hubby and dad hunted and it worked out that Ben had planning meetings with the church all evening Friday and all day Sat. So, instead of me and the girls just sitting around here all weekend without Ben we traveled the 3 hours to GA.
We had a blast of a time. Lauren's little baby, Aubrey, is just 2 weeks older than Ireland and she is so sweet. We didn't do much, just had some fun girl times hanging around the house and went out for some great Chinese on Friday night.

I also thought I toss in this cute video of Ireland. She just loves to play patty-cake and gives lots of smiles and even laughs sometimes during it. She's 5mo. old now. I'll post some cutie pics of her later with a fun video I took of Isabelle the other day too. :) What a blessing 2 little girls are!

Catching Up???

Wow!!! It's been a little while since my last post!! oops! Time and priorities always seemed to get in the way of me putting anything up here. For those friends who've wanted to see pics from Sarah's wedding...sorry...b/c I was in the wedding and b/c we were just trying to get out the door and to the wedding we forgot our camera so you'll have to look on www.sandmice6@blogspot.com to see some if you're interested.

The girls have been through a little sickness the past few weeks here. The day after Christmas we found out that Isabelle had a urinary tract infection. Which followed with lots of antibiotics and some extra tests to make sure she didn't have any problmes with her kidneys. Praise the Lord all turned out good and she seems to be fine now. Ireland endured her first ear infection. I was so sad to have to take her to the dr. and find out that at 4 mo. old she had an ear infection. We pray that this is not a sign of continued ear infections and ear problems. She's doing well now to, other than the little cold that her big sister so lovingly shared with her!! :)

We enjoyed a couple of inches of snow here on Thursday morning. But since we already had our real snow fun in MI with the 15 inches we decided to leave the wet SC snow to looking only. :) Above is a slide show of the past few weeks.

Happy New Years

(This is Ben. Dayna's asked me to put up pics.) We came to Michigan for the first part of this week to spend time with Dayna's parents and have Christmas with them...even though it was New Years. We had a huge snow on New Years morning. It snowed 14 inches!!! Isabelle's 1st real snow. It was so much fun. It has been 3 1/2 years since we have seen any real snow. Bedrest with Ireland and prematurity with Isabelle has kept us from seeing the Northern snow for a while. At the end of the week we will go to Muncie for Sarah's wedding. Hopefully we can post video too!

Merry Christmas

Ireland's 1st Christmas!

Christmas Dresses

We had a wonderful Christmas here at home. Sarah (Ben's sis) was able to come and spend her 3rd Christmas with us! We love having her here for Christmas and we will hreatly miss her next year at Christmas. We read the Christmas story together and thanked God for sending Jesus to earth to be our Saviour from sin. Then we opened presents and had some cinniman rolls together. This year was really fun b/c it was Isabelle's first Christmas of actually being able to open the presents herself and to kinda know what's going on. We then ate a lovely Christmas dinner together and probably stuffed ourselves more than we should say. :) Merry Christmas to all.

Lights at Christmas

Sorry about the music ealier...I didn't know there was music. This past week we went to the Riverbanks Zoo Christmas lights. We had a good time together and Isabelle really enjoyed seeing all the "pretty lights" as she calls them!

We are excitedly looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Saviour this Christmas and teaching Isabelle what Christmas is all about. Our new question for her is, "What is Christmas about, Isabelle?" And she responds with, "Jesus!" (or at least that's what we're teaching her at the moment.)

Irish Ireland!

For all of our family and friends in the north...it's a balmy 77 degrees here today!! :) So, in celebration (???) of this warm weathered day, I put Ireland in her first Irish Ireland outfit. She got it as a gift from her Irish buddy Conor and his Mommy Aisling. (Thanks Aish!) Ireland is 4mo. old this week! Can't believe the time has passed so quickly. She'll go for her checkup this week to see how big she's grown in the past 2 months!!!

Making Soup????

Isabelle has started pretending to make food for us. All I have to say to her if she's walking around just "getting in to trouble" is, "Can you go make me some food?" And she'll say, "Yeah!!" (which she seems to have picked up from her cousin)And then she runs to her blocks and "whips me something up!" :) Tonight I asked her if she made me soup. Listen closly to waht her word for soup sounds like. We got quite a laugh out of it!!

O Christmas Tree

I'm always so excited to get all the Christmas stuff out and our tree up as soon as Thanksgiving passes. So on Tuesday we went and bought our tree. It's a little smaller than we thought it was going to be but it turned out nice in the end. Isabelle thinks all the ornaments are pretty and like to take them off and pull them apart. She's learning quickly to just look and not touch! :) When we first put the tree in the stand and began decorating it, Ben stood up and sang "O Christmas Tree" with his hand over his heart. Well now we'll catch Isabelle trying to sing the song but we here "Happy Birthday to you" instead of "O Christmas Tree."!! Whatever works, I guess!

Thanksgiving

We traveled up to Indiana for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time with family. We praise the Lord for His goodness to us and his gracious hand upon us. So much to be thankful for and give God the glory for! Isabelle had a blast playing with her cousins and Ireland did great the whole time too! A special blessing was being able to see my mom and dad. They were able to come to the Ice's for Thanksgiving dinner. Of course they sure enjoyed seeing the girls and it was the first time they'd seen Ireland so she got in some good loving time by both Grammie and Grandpa! Thanks for making the trip mom and dad it was sure great seeing you! Below are some pictures of our holiday. The half of the pics got left behind on someone elses computer but we have Thanksgiving day.

The Girls

I got the camera out yesterday to take some more pictures of our smiley little baby. She's started to coo and talk to you when you talk directly to her. I'll try to post some video of it soon. Isabelle and I also had some fun with the camera today. She liked me taking pictures of her just so she could see them after that. Isabelle is getting more used to her big girl bed now and doesn't get out quite as much. She loves her baby dolls and like to pretend all sorts of things with them. It's so fun to watch her pretend and play.

Busy Weekend

Ireland Faith is 11 weeks old and has just started smiling when you talk to her in the last few days. She's been very attentive and serious looking since this time. So I was able to snap a few pics the other day of her having happy faces and sweet looks.

We have had a very been a busy weekend. Ben's ordination council met to question him on friday and he did very, well praise the Lord, and received a 100% vote by the council. It was so nice to have Ben's good friend Lukus Counterman come for a few days before the council for some Truth Trackers meetings. Mom and Dad Ice, and Paul, Scott, and Michael were able to come down for the council as well. After the council met on Friday morning for a few hours, we had a luncheon and then came back to our house. Later that evening we went for pizza (Ben and Lukus actually were at the church for a Family Activity) and then we all stayed up way to late fellowshipping and having fun chatting! I will say there were too many boys here and Liesl and sister-in-laws you were very much missed! Sunday was the big ordination service day. The service was in the evening and was great. Ben's dad gave the charge to Ben and Pastor Taylor gave the charge to the church. Then the pastors and ordained men came and prayed over Ben committing him to the gospel ministry. What a blessed day and weekend we had! God has been so good to us. We praise Him for how He has clearly lead and directed us in each step of our lives!

Pumpkin Fun!

Today we did some pumpkin carving and this was the first year that Isabelle was old enough to be somewhat interested in what was going on. She liked watching Daddy but thought all the "goop" inside the pumpkin was gross and she kept saying "eew, eew yuck!" We always like to carve something unique, do this year we decided to carve our family. Isabelle, Daddy, Mommy and Ireland. Ben did all the carving and did a great job in my opinion. While he was finishing the carving I was getting the pumpkin seeds ready for toasting. Yummy! Isabelle even liked the toasted pumpkin seeds. And lest we forget baby Ireland, she was with us too but taking a nappy in her swing. (by way of congrats to Ireland...she slept from 10:30pm til 6:30am last night!!! Yeah for Ireland and Mommy!!! We hope it continues.) Happy Fall to ALL!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Happy 30th birthday to my dear sweet husband!! You mean so much to me! I praise God for such a godly man who loves me and his little girls and takes such good care of us! Ben's favorite meal will be served up to him tonight...homemade Mac & Cheese and a homemade pumpkin pie for dessert. Happy Birthday honey ~ I LOVE YOU!!

A Little update

Ireland went for her 2 month checkup today and all went well. She is now 10lbs 11oz and 22 in. long. She's still a really good baby and we're thankful for that with a 2 year old that is all TWO!! It seems that just a few weeks after Isabelle's 2 birthday she took on the two year old "attributes" in full force. She gets into EVERYTHING, wants EVERYTHING, and has a strong opinion about at times. Along with some of the difficult "attributes" of being two also comes the fun times. Isabelle can say lots of words and many phrases now and will repeat just about anything you ask her to. She says phrases like, "I see you," "I don't like it," "I hold you," baby's cryin'" "wash hands" "help please" and too many more to list. We love hearing her talk so we tell her to say lots and it's so cute when she does.

We went to the park in downtown Greenville last weekend for a picnic and a nice walk. We really had a wonderful time together as a family. It's so nice to be able to do things all together again. We enjoyed the beautiful fall like weather that God gave us to enjoy last Saturday.

I have a couple of matching outfits for Isabelle and Ireland. We put there matching purple outfit on for Wednesday and took some pics. I actually just happened to be wearing a purple shirt as well so all three of us girls were able to get matching pics together!

Our "New" Hutch

Old one.
New one.

This is the hutch that was Mom and Dad Ice's and they didn't want it anymore. They so kindly gave it to us and we just finished giving it a little face lift. We forgot to take a before pic of it but believe me (and those in the family may remember it) it looks completly different than original. Thanks Mom and Dad Ice for giving it to us, we love it!!!

Isabelle's New Room

Isabelle is offically in her new "big girl" room and Ireland is now in the nursery crib. The first night we didn't have a side on the bed but thought since the bed is so close to the ground it wouldn't be too big of a problem. Well, she fell out twice within five minutes of eachother after she was asleep. So that first night she went into the pack and play for the rest of the night. We got a protective side since then and so now she's just learning to stay in bed when she's put to bed. She's very tempted (and most times gives in!) to sneak out of bed and play with some toys. Can't believe that my little 2lb baby is now 22lbs and sleeping in a big bed!!! A little about the furniture in her room: The bed frame was an $8.00 find at a garage sale. It was blue and scuffed up so I painted it pink. The dresser was a dresser from Maranatha that they were throwing away but we were getting married so we took it. Now I painted it pink and added new knobs. The table was a side of the road find last year. Ben cut the legs down so the table would be kid friendly and I painted the legs pink. Now she has a place to color, read, etc. And the bookshelf was from Ben at college that we painted green. It's amazing what a little paint can do to old furniture. We're leaving the walls a neutral color now for whenever we sell the house so every room is not too girly! :) I just have to get some pictures put up and her new room will be complete!

When we were in Indiana at the Amish farm we took some sister pics of the girls. Yes, they are sisters believe it or not but it sure does look like we may have grabbed someone elses kid and put her in Isabelle's lap!! Even though they look very different in hair and skin color, at a closer look Ireland's face looks a lot like Isabelle when she was a baby. Isabelle still loves her sister and will give her kisses, say, "baby cryin' " when Ireland cries, get her pacifier for her, and give her a few "love pokes" every now and then too!!!
